On December 11, Malvern Prep varsity basketball fell to St. Joe’s Prep in an overtime nail-biter at O’Neill Gym.
After trailing the entire game, the Friars forced a turnover with 17 seconds left. Sophomore guard Deuce Turner hit the And-1 layup to make it a 63-62 game. Turner then tied it up by hitting a clutch free throw to send the game into overtime.
The Friars took an early lead in overtime but fell short as Prep outscored the Friars 13-4. St. Joe’s Prep came out victorious and beat the Friars 76-67.
Malvern’s next game is Tuesday December 12 vs the Australian travel team in the O’Neill Gym at 7pm.
