During the final week of October, the entire middle school comes together to celebrate a new school year. This event is called Spirit Week. In preparation for Spirit Week, the student leadership team plans out three games for each grade at a time. These games happen at the end of the day and are fun ways for the students to unwind and connect.
While the students are still getting settled in the new school year, the student leadership team is already planning spirit week. When interviewed, Mrs. Robinson commented, “Spirit week planning involves the student leaders coming up with games, themes, schedules, locations, and emailing the families.”
When asked about why Malvern does spirit week, Anthony Tray responded, “We do spirit week to try to bring the community together to bond as brothers while still having fun. We also want to bring the spirit for the homecoming weekend.” Anthony is a student leadership team member and provides helpful insight into why this event unfolds every year.
All in all, as Malvern celebrates spirit week, it’s important to remember the value behind this time together. This week in particular helps the Friar brothers celebrate Malvern’s core value of unity.
