If you are walking around campus, you might notice the big building under construction in the middle of all the sports fields. That building is the Student life center, coming in summer 2026.
The Student Life Center isn’t just being used for sports. It will be similar to Center For Social Impact or Riley Hall as a hub, according to Mr. Stewart. There will be classrooms used for culinary classes, film for sports teams, clubs, and microcourses. Other classes that will be held in the Student Life Center according to Mr. Stewart are Life Skills. The center will also be a hub for Inclusivity and Belonging.
You might be wondering why the SLC is being built in the spot that it is. According to Mr. Stewart, the Student Life Center is adjacent to football and soccer in the fall and baseball and lacrosse in the spring. This will allow a better view of the fields for spectators, and will create more room so that big games will not be as crowded for the fans.
Mr. Stewart says, “The three sided viewing deck will be a great showpiece of the SLC, as I can foresee many watching our contests from up there.”
Having the extra locker space will help Malvern Prep sports by having more locker rooms for different sports, allowing it to be less crowded and making more space for training related activities.
Having the Student Life Center will help Malvern Prep athletics because it will create extra space, more classrooms, and less crowded locker rooms. Having these extra perks will benefit both spectators and the players, as it will help develop a better experience and atmosphere.
