The Mother’s Club hosted the annual Mother-Son mass and dinner party on Saturday March 16 and amidst the bad weather had quite a solid turnout. The night began with Father Erdlen and Father Flynn celebrating mass in the chapel. Moms and their sons from all grades of the school packed the chapel in prayer. Mass was also graced with volunteers from the men’s liturgical music and Malvern’s own Alex Tran and Austin Scavetti providing the music.
After mass the group of about two hundred migrated to Dougherty hall where an arrangement of tables was set and dinner was prepared. After dinner, the moms and their sons partied in the gym.
Highlights of the night included a photo booth where moms and their sons were encouraged to take pictures together, a raffle where an iPad mini and blue Beats Headphones (with “MP” printed on the side) were the prizes to be one, a conga line, a hula hoop contest, and lots of dancing. Seniors Matt Cornell and Julian Gaasche won the raffles.
Malvern thanks the Mother’s Club for organizing such an event where mothers and their sons get to spend time together and strengthen one of the strongest bonds in life.
