“I was shocked and hurt. I was really surprised. I did not see it coming. For me, it came out of left field. Like I said, I was really hurt. I think it kind of scares me because being an African American, I don’t want to set back all the progress we made. I don’t feel as though Mr. Trump was inclusive to every race. I think he singled out a lot of races and gave the racists and the bigots a platform to hate and to speak that hate.”
