Architecture. It is the art of constructing buildings and other structures. That means that Impactful Architecture is Architecture that helps others without a place to stay. The Impactful Architectural Design microcourse was run by Blake Lee ‘26.

In this microcourse, students learned about Impactful Architecture and then built a structure that can help people in tough places. Blake wanted to start this microcourse to share his interest in architecture and to teach middle schoolers the way that he would have liked to learn about architecture. A challenge was teaching this to Middle Schoolers. When he saw the students building their structures he said it felt fulfilling. ‘’Not only were they learning how to design thoughtful architecture, but they were also having fun while doing it!’’ He felt a joy watching each student building their structure.

Blake had a lot of fun doing this microcourse. He said that his favorite part was hearing us ask questions, be interested, and be concerned for the people that we were helping. ‘’This showed me that you weren’t just building for the sake of it being fun, but that you wanted to understand architecture in a way that goes beyond what looks good. ‘’
