This spring, middle school student-athletes at Malvern Prep are beginning their spring sports seasons on the school’s fields and against other Inter-Ac teams. The teams, including baseball, lacrosse, track, and tennis, started practicing in March and will start playing games in the near future. These sports give students the chance to represent their school, especially our motto of brotherhood, and be part of a team. The season is important because it helps athletes build skills, stay active, and learn teamwork. Players are improving by going to practice, listening to their coaches, and working hard. Through their effort and teamwork, Malvern Prep middle school athletes hope to have a fun and successful season.
Middle school athlete Max Cloeter shares more about his goals for the season. Max is a current eighth grader playing for MS Varsity lacrosse. He talks about what goals he had set for the season in hopes to create an impact for lacrosse. He says, “I’m looking forward to competing with my teammates and seeing how much we have improved as a group. I am especially excited for the big games and the chance to challenge myself against strong opponents. More than anything, I’m excited to build team chemistry and make this a memorable season.” Max wasn’t worried about wins or losses this season, but rather focused on building team chemistry and brotherhood on and off the field. Max shared more about how he wanted to fill the leadership role on his team to help younger players. He commented, “A goal that I have is to be a strong leader, especially at Malvern. I feel this way because there are seventh and sixth graders on the team and they look up to us eighth graders.” Max was a role model to younger players on and off the field this spring season. Max played an excellent season, and met his goals along the way.
Overall, the spring sports season has come to an end here at Malvern. This season has given athletes a chance to bond not only as players but as brothers. On behalf of myself and all athletes of our middle school I would like to thank all coaches that volunteered to help out this season. We look forward to next season as students continue to improve, compete, and make lasting memories both on and off the field. Good luck, and go Friars!
